The Wisconsin State Journal dishes up yet another Filler editorial in today’s Revisit money-saving merger. It’s literally a restatement of a WSJ news story by reporter Jeff Glaze from two days earlier. But it adds a silly layer of posturing in its disappointment over the decision.
Present in Glaze’s original reporting, but absent from the editorial, is the interesting fact that the study committee recommended unanimously not to pursue merger, at least not now. Does the WSJ editorial board have a particle of information that leads them to question the recommendation? Not that we can see. No, it’s very likely that the people who spent time studying the question have made a reasonable (unanimous!) judgment. What is the point of griping about it?
This is just posing.
