Hold the parade, re-start the presses

We have just learned from a confidential source that today’s old-fashioned (yes, we said “today’s old-fashioned”) print edition of the Wisconsin State Journal DOES contain something that sure looks like an editorial. So… it appears we may have jumped the gun earlier. Cancel the parade. Boy, are we red-faced.

The “Case of the missing online editorial” now seems to be neither a matter of any editor’s honest self-assessment nor of any astute manager’s intervention. Instead maybe it works like this: since it was authored by assistant city editor Mark Pitsch, it’s just not an ‘official’ WSJ editorial? Is that how it works?

Well, whatever it was, Pitsch’s piece was better than usual, and with extravagant fanfare, we award it our coveted “Type II – Surprisingly Correct” designation.
